Partnerships are categorized into two types in Thailand:

Limited Companies

Limited companies in Thailand are categorized into private limited companies and public limited companies
(1) Private Limited Company: At least three shareholders are required and the shareholders have limited liability for the debts of the company.
(2) Public Limited Company: At least 15 promoters are required and separation of shareholders and management can be achieved.
When a limited company is registered in Thailand, it is required to have a business registered address in Thailand and to file an annual balance sheet with the Department of Revenue and the Ministry of Commerce.

Other types of companies

(1) Branch office of a foreign enterprise: As a branch office of a foreign company, it does not have the status of an independent legal person and is required to apply for a foreign business license from the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand.
(2) Representative Office of Foreign Enterprises: As a representative office of a foreign company, it may only engage in non-profit activities, such as business matching and technical exchanges.
(3) International Business Center: A company incorporated under the laws of Thailand to provide management or technical services to branches or affiliates in Thailand or abroad.
